Dave has 30 years experience with firearms and has competed in and organized a wide variety of shooting competitions. He teaches the International Practical Shooting Confederation 'Black Badge' course for competitive action pistol shooters and the Canadian Shooting Sports Association Handgun Safety Course, and has acted as a senior official at various National and Provincial shooting competitions. He is also trained by the Universal Shooting Academy as a Practical Pistol Instructor and by the Remington Shooting School in shotgunning.

In most provinces the Canadian Firearms Safety Course Exam(s) must be passed in order to get a Possession and Acquisition Licence.
